05.09.2018 DR. MHER SAHAKYAN’S NEW BOOK ON CHINA’S ONE BELT, ONE ROAD INITIATIVE AND ARMENIA
Dr. Mher Sahakyan, head of the "China-Eurasia" Political and Strategic Research Foundation, member of the British Association for Chinese Studies, has published the new book on China’s One Belt, One Road Initiative and Armenia. The main aim of this study is to introduce a strategic roadmap through which Armenia can be involved in the Chinese "One Belt, One Road" initiative and strengthen its political, military-technical, financial and economic cooperation with China.

10.07.2018 TWO ARMENIANS TO BE REPRESENTED IN TURKISH PARLIAMENT
According to preliminary results of the Turkish Parliamentary elections, two Armenians will be represented in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Garo Paylan has been elected from the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), Margar Yesayan will represent the ruling Justice and Democracy Party (AKP).

06.07.2018 NASA AWARDS ITS HIGHEST HONOR TO YERVANT TERZIAN
NASA has announced it will award the Distinguished Public Service Medal, its highest honor, to astronomer Yervant Terzian, the Tisch Distinguished Professor Emeritus. The medal will be presented by NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston on Aug. 2. The ceremony will be broadcast live at noon EDT on NASA TV.

04.06.2018 ARMENIAN MILITARY TO GET TOR MISSILE SYSTEMS FROM RUSSIA IN NEXT FEW MONTHS
The Armenian Armed Forces are expected to receive Tor air defense missile systems from Russia within several months, the Public TV Company reported recently, citing its sources at the Defense Ministry. Arthur Poghosyan, the deputy chief of the Air Defense Forces, talked about the missile system’s combat capacities at the “Zinuzh” (Armed Forces) program aired by the TV company on 19 May 2018.

On May 21, the President of the RA National Assembly Ara Babloyan received the delegation led by the President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Syllouris. The meeting was held in an extended composition.

22.05.2018 PRESS RELEASE ON THE SIGNING OF RUSSIAN-SWISS DOCUMENTS
On May 18, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Federal Council of the Swiss Confederation signed an agreement regarding the implementation of a Russian-Georgian agreement on the basic principles for a mechanism of customs administration and monitoring of trade in goods, which was signed on November 9, 2011 as regards the establishment of a trust fund. Also, an agreement was signed between the Russian Government and the Swiss company SGS Societe Generale de Surveillance SA.

President Ilham Aliyev issued an order "On the establishment of a coordinating Commission for information security." The document was signed on March 29, 2018, but was not published on official websites. However, it is on the website of the Special State Protection Service (SSPS).

The Faculty of Business Administration & Economics at Haigazian University organized a round table conference titled “The Retail Industry Trends: Opportunities and Challenges”, which took place on Friday the 23rd of March 2018, in the University’s auditorium. The two-hour conference, delivered by experts from the retail sector of the Lebanese economy, covered the areas of Franchising, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and the Automotive sector.
