MEMORY AND THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE: GLOBAL CHALLENGES

On November 17 Professor Mihran Dabag –Director of the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Studies at the Ruhr University (Bochum, Germany) – delivered lecture within the framework of the Educational programme of “Noravank” Foundation.

Professor presented Claus Leggewie’s theory of circles of European memory and offered its own conception which manifests itself in its multi-centricity. Thus, while speaking about history and memory about the victims, Dr. Dabag offered to make it transnational.

The lecture was followed by questions and answers. The event also featured Gagik Harutyunyan, Harutyun Marutyan, Ara Marjanyan and others.
