MEETING AT “NORAVANK” FOUNDATION

On September 8 “Noravank” Foundation received historian and culture expert Dr. Klaus Gallas, the head of “West-Eastern Divan Festival-Weimar”. Dr. Gallas presented their organization’s main activity and goals – to establish dialogue between Germany and other countries by means of annual festivals. Dr. Gallas also spoke about his academic, journalistic and publishing activity, underlined his interest in the culture of Armenia, as well as efforts directed to the recognition of the Genocide. He also mentioned that they intended to include Armenia in their events in the years to come. The importance of cultural and intellectual exchange between Armenia and Germany was discussed; in this context they spoke about possible cooperation between “West-Eastern Divan Festival” and “Noravank” Foundation.

Director of “Noravank” Foundation Gagik Harutyunyan presented foundation’s main research and educational directions, emphasized the importance of development of the cultural and academic ties between societies of Armenia and Germany as a factor of civilizational significance.
