About Iran’s nuclear program

On the 25th of March in Noravank Foundation took place a seminar on Iran’s nuclear program. The speech was given by SEF Iran expert Sevak Sarukhanyan, who took part at the conference on “nuclear technology and fundamental development” in Iran on 5-6 of March. Many famous specialists and representatives of analytical centers all over the world took part in that conference. During the conference was made a speech by the secretary of Iran’s Supreme council of security H. Rohani, who pointed out the following fundamental tenets.

  • Iran won’t reject uranium enrichment technologies.
  • Iran carries on negotiations with Europeans not because it wants to stop uranium enrichment process, but because it wants the Europeans to be better informed about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.
  • The policy of European countries doesn’t satisfy Iran.
  • Iran continues cooperation with Russia in the sphere of nuclear power.

Within the framework of the conference the speaker took part in the special demonstration of the film titled ”Iran’s nuclear program”. In fact with this film Iran announced all the world that it doesn’t intend to be content with only atomic electric power station, it intends to develop a complete nuclear program, that’s to say besides building atomic electric power stations it is going to organize uranium extraction and enrichment together with plutonium’s production. Till 2010 Iran intends build atomic electric power stations with 7000 megawatt power, however he can’t realize that plan all alone, and it is unlikely that the Europeans and Russian will help Iran before the named date.

According to S. Sarukhanyan by the end of the conference almost all its members were sure that Iran was going to make nuclear power in spite of its assurances in the opposite.
