THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR AND THE HISTORICAL MEMORY

A scientific seminar titled The Great Patriotic War and the Historical Memory was organized at the Noravank Foundation on June 28. The event was attended by the experts of the Foundation, as well as Armenian and Russian leading specialists.

Gagik Harutyunyan, Executive Director, Noravank Foundation made a presentation The Memory Policy and the Time “Triad”. Presentations were delivered also by Vagharshak Harutiunyan, former Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Dr. Kristine Melkonyan, Senior Researcher, Department of Turkish Studies of the NAS RA Institute of Oriental Studies, and Dr. Armen Hovsepyan.

The presenters invited the attention of participants on the issues of the participation of Armenians in the Great Patriotic War, and importance of the continuity of the historical memory.

The presentations were followed by an active discussion.
