THE HISTORICAL PATH AND PRESENT SITUATION OF THE MEKHITARIST CONGREGATION OF VENICE

A seminar on “The Historical Path and Present Situation of the Mekhitarist Congregation of Venice” was organized at the Noravank Foundation on October 26, 2017. Keynote was delivered by Archimandrite Serovbe Chamourlian, Abbot of the Mekhitarist Congregation, and editor of Bazmavep journal. The speaker presented the history of establishment of the Mekhitarist monastery in San Lazzaro degli Armeni, its historical path and achievements, as well as the current situation and problems faced by the congregation.

The keynote was followed by questions and answers session. Various opinions were expressed. The possibilities of cooperation between Noravank Foundation and Mekhitarist Congregation were discussed.
