
PROBLEMS OF ARMENIAN COMMUNITY
A seminar on the problems of Armenian community was organized at the Noravank Foundation on June 16, 2017.
The first speaker, A. Marjanyan, Senior Expert, Center for Political Studies of the Noravank Foundation, talked about databases as natural resources and sources of power for the countries. The expert analyzed internet contents in different languages in volumes and depths.
A. Simavoryan, Head of the Center for Armenian Studies of the Noravank Foundation, addressed the experience of collaboration between Azerbaijan and its diaspora scientists. The speaker presented the creation history and geographic distribution of the Azerbaijani scientific diaspora, steps undertaken by Azerbaijani government to work with that community, the objectives of such work, as well as the problems associated with this area.
V. Hovyan, Senior Expert and Scientific Secretary, Center for Armenian Studies of the Noravank Foundation, talked about the issues of Armenian - Greek cooperation in diaspora. The speaker first presented the experience gained so far in this area, which he divided into three parts: symmetric, asymmetric and synthetic collaboration. He then presented the obstacles existing in this area. Finally the speaker made several practical recommendations for expanding and deepening the Armenian - Greek cooperation in diaspora.
The presentations were followed by active discussions. Various opinions were expressed.
