THE NORTH-SOUTH AXIS: CURRENT STATUS AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS OF ARMENIA-RUSSIA-IRAN COOPERATION

A conference titled The North-South Axis: Current Status and Development Prospects of Armenia-Russia-Iran Cooperation was held at Noravank Foundation on June 27, 2016.

The speakers discussed the Armenia-Russia-Iran trade and economic cooperation prospects, Georgia-Russia relations within the North-South political axis, strategic prerequisites and obstacles for North-South Russia-Georgia-Armenia-Iran integration, Armenia and Azerbaijan participation prospects in the North-South corridor, beginning of the process for termination of international sanctions against Iran, and in this context the development potential for cooperation within the Iran-Armenia-Georgia-Russia axis, and some other issues.

The presentations were followed by active discussions.
