
PECULIARITIES OF THE “COLD WAR 2”
A seminar for discussion of the “Cold War 2” peculiarities took place in Noravank Foundation on May 6, 2014.
The speaker, G. Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the Noravank Foundation, briefly presented the history of the “Cold War 1” between USSR and USA, and the post-Cold-War chronology with emphasis on the wars in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, South Ossetia and Syria. The speaker talked about NATO expansion after the Cold War and the current events in Ukraine. G. Harutyunyan then presented the peculiarities of the “new Cold War”, examining them in geopolitical, economic and ideological dimensions.
In conclusion of the seminar numerous opinions were expressed, questions were asked and an active discussion took place.
