
TOPICAL ISSUES OF EURASIAN INTEGRATION AND ARMENIA
A seminar titled Topical Issues of Eurasian Integration and Armenia took place at the Noravank Foundation on April 14, 2014. Vladimir Lepekhin, General Director of the EurAsEC Institute (Moscow) delivered a keynote speech in the seminar.
V. Lepekhin reviewed the geopolitical and geo-economic trends in Eurasia, dynamics of relations in the USA-EU-Russia triangle, and projections of the global economic crisis on the South Caucasus region. Also, the situation in Ukraine was examined and possible development scenarios were outlined.
The current state and progress of integration processes within the frameworks of the Customs Union and Eurasian Union, as well as economic development prospects for Armenia after joining the CU were addressed with a special focus.
The seminar was attended by analysts, experts, representatives of diplomatic missions in Armenia, political scientists, young researchers and journalists.
After the keynote the participants asked numerous questions and exchanged opinions.
