PANEL SESSION OF THE RESEARCH COUNCIL AND SEMINAR AT THE NORAVANK FOUNDATION

A panel session of the Noravank Foundation research council combined with a seminar took place on February 20, 2014.

The agenda of the research council panel session included such issues as: changes in the council membership, expansion of the main advisors list, meeting the new requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission for the 21st Century journal, commendation of seminar speakers and organizers, approval of the research project “The Azerbaijani Society” conducted by A. Pashayan.

G. Harutyunyan introduced A. Dumanyan, a membership candidate for the Foundation’s research council, as well as S. Manukyan, A. Tavadyan and A. Tevikyan, candidates for the advisor positions. He also covered the issue on commendation of seminar speakers and organizers.

L. Baghramyan presented the matters in regard to meeting the new requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission for the 21st Century journal. S. Sarukhanyan presented the research project “The Azerbaijani Society” conducted by A. Pashayan.

The seminar was dedicated to discussion of the research project “Centers of Armenian Studies in Diaspora: Assessment of the Potential”. The project manager A. Simavoryan, Head of the Center for Armenian Studies at Noravank Foundation, presented the issue of clarifying the criteria definition and classification of the centers of Armenian studies.

During both the panel session of the research council and the seminar, active discussions took place. Questions, opinions and recommendations were voiced by G. Harutyunyan, S. Sarukhanyan, V. Hovyan, S. Manukyan, E.L. Danielyan, A. Simavoryan, A. Dumanyan, A. Barseghyan, and A. Manusyan.
