The 9th issue of “Globus” analytical bulletin for 2018 has been published, covering geopolitical, Diaspora and information problems.
In the context of the geopolitical problems a special focus is on the Far East and Central Asia region. The authors review the technological breakthrough of China during the rule of Deng Xiaoping and the impact on the country’s economy and political weight in the international arena. The threat of separatism for China is analyzed along with the US policies and the role of Uyghur diaspora in that context. The potential of Kazakhstan for satellites is examined, particularly in orbit grouping and satellite positioning.
Additionally, in the context of geopolitical problems the natural gas component in the BP’s Statistical Review of World Energy is presented.
In the context of diaspora and information problems the issue of Armenian identity abroad is reviewed, and a comparative analysis of Armenian and Azerbaijani cultural policies is presented on the example of panorama.am and day.az websites.
