ABOUT SOME PECULIARITIES OF CHINA’S STRATEGY

Gagik Harutyunyan, Andranik Hovhannisyan

Resume

The Chinese civilization is one of the oldest political, economic and cultural centers of the world. This civilization has managed to dominate on the international arena at certain intervals of time; however, with the collapse of the Qing Empire in 1911, a temporary decline occurred, which was interrupted by the fateful reforms of Deng Xiaoping in the late 1970s. These reforms contributed to the adoption of a new course of the PRC under the general title of "The Chinese Dream". The article attempts to examine the PRC's active foreign policy in East Asia and the Asia Pacific, the possibilities of forming new military-political and economic alliances under the auspices of Beijing, as well as the internal and external problems of the Celestial Empire, which stand as a stumbling block to the attainment of the "The Chinese Dream".

The international recognition of Artsakh’s independence, which stems from the interests of both Armeniancy and the international community, is presented in the article as the most direct, and possibly bloodless path towards the final settlement of the Artsakh issue. The latest trends in the foreign policy of the Republic of Artsakh, as well as the response to those from the USA and its motivation are described and analyzed.

The Karabakh conflict for many years continues to remain an important factor influencing the political map of the South Caucasus and the fate of Armenians and Azerbaijanis living in the region. The unique geopolitical, communications and energy significance increases the interest towards the region in terms of the regional and global factors. The conflict parties and the countries involved in the peaceful settlement, as well as third-party countries and international organizations pursue their own objectives and for a long time did not have a unified position on the problem of Nagorno Karabakh.
