THE VICTORY OVER COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS AND THOUGHT (how the objective toolkit works on subjective base)

Georgiy Pocheptsov

Resume

It appears the recent campaigns implemented with the use of Big Data prove that subjective knowledge may bring about objective results, when they become a basis for influence. It turns out an appeal to mass subjects with the use of subjective toolkits may lead to objective results. Collective consciousness represents sort of a “thin” space, where properties of each element are different and that is why it is hard to understand the behavior of the whole. Then the specialists implement a “densifying” process themselves, thus creating the needed type of object. As seen, in modern days subjective factors are no longer an obstacle for influence on collective consciousness. In fact, it is the other way around: those who control subjectivity are able to achieve the best objective results.

THE ECONOMICS OF WAR: THE TEMPTATIONS OF LIBERAL ECONOMY AND THE NATIONAL INTEREST

Tatul Manaseryan

Resume

In the last 25 years a sort of a “taboo” has emerged among government managers with regard to national model of economic development, apparently prompted by the temptation to impress the external world. Lack of experience internally and preconditions imposed by external actors are in addition complicated by regional and global challenges. These are increasing the extent of the country’s vulnerability both from economic and national security perspectives. The ideological and financial/economic crises afforded an opportunity to commence a search of national economy shaping ways without strict external constraints. It is also important to consider potential impacts of geopolitical and transforming regional trends under the threat of war recurrence on the process of shaping the new model for country’s governance.

PRIORITIES OF THE MILITARY INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT IN THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA

Gayane Harutyunyan

Resume

The article summarizes the results of some studies conducted in the framework of the scientific theme "Interdependence between the military industry, innovations and economic growth in small open economy". On the basis of this study and the experience of countries with small open economies that achieved significant economic growth through the development of the military industry, it is proposed to consider the development of indigenous military industry as a unique solution to the ultimate priority of ensuring the country's security in modern geopolitical conditions and the most effective way of solving economic development problem of the country. In this context, certain measures are recommended to implement in various sectors of the economy.

Increasing the efficiency of Armenian higher education system and its continuous improvement are necessary conditions for development of knowledge economy in the country and boosting through it the competitiveness of the national educational system in the global economic order. In order to shape a knowledge economy, the country needs to promote the preservation and continuous development of its human capital and scientific potential. In this regard, the recent years saw a drastic rise in the number of scientific/educational centers or so-called “think tanks” in the Republic of Armenia. FROM IDENTITY DISORDER TO ASSIMILATION: THE PHENOMENON OF “GUARANTEEING SAFETY” OF ARMENIAN ORPHANS DURING THE GENOCIDE

Mira Antonyan

Resume

The Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey left thousands of Armenian children orphans. They were persecuted, renamed, used as Janissaries, assimilated, forced to convert to Islam, “gifted” to Islamic Turkish and Kurdish families as free labor force, abused, physically and sexually assaulted. Despite the overwhelming evidence of said events, the Turkish government to this day continues to present them as charitable orphan care activities performed by the Turkish government and population, as a tribute to universal humanitarian values.
While thoroughly hiding from its own population the fact of forced assimilation of Armenian orphans, Turkey’s current government at the same time takes every opportunity to hint at the perils that the “previously Armenian” population will face, if the Genocide recognition process is pushed forward.
The article addresses the real actions Turkish government took regarding the “care” for Genocide orphans and the “guaranteeing of their safety.” It also addresses the phenomenon of “non-Armenians” – the current generation of said orphans formed because of forced assimilation and identity distortion.
