The role of memory in the structure of national identity: theoretical questions

In the represented work are examined the fundamental ideas and component parts of collective and historic memory from the ethnographical standpoint, the factors forming them and their forms of manifestation, mechanisms of their formation and transmission, ways of transformation; ethno-mobilizing potential and forms of its usage by the elite; the role memory plays in correlation with future and present as well as a number of problems of traumatic memory.
The book is provided for ethnographers, historians as well as for wide range of readers.
