THE COLLECTIVE SECURITY TREATY ORGANIZATION AND THE SECURITY OF EURASIA

The objectives of the Collective Security Treaty Organization are: bolstering peace, international and regional security and stability; and the collective defense based on independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the member-states. In achieving these objectives priority is given to the political methods.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization promotes establishment of a fair, democratic world order, based on the commonly accepted principles of the international law.

The main directions of the CSTO activities are comprehensive development of political cooperation, development and enhancement of the military component, counteraction to terrorism, extremism, illegal drugs and armaments trafficking, as well as other threats.
