PROGRESSIVE BRITISH FIGURES’ APPRECIATION OF ARMENIA’S CIVILIZATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE VERSUS THE FALSIFIED “ANCIENT TURKEY” EXHIBIT IN THE BRITISH MUSEUM

EnglishРуский

Eduard L. Danielyan

The book (3.55 MB) presents famous British figures’ cultural and spiritual perception of Armenia (as the country of Paradise, sacred Mt. Ararat-Masis and the cradle of civilization) versus the "exhibit" (containing Turkish falsified interpretations of archaeological artifacts from the ancient monuments of the Armenian Highland and Asia Minor) with forged name "Ancient Turkey" in the "Room 54" of the British Museum.

Taking into consideration the fact that there are collections of ancient and medieval valuable artifacts from Armenia (Western and Eastern Armenia) and Asia Minor, as well as availability of historiographical and cartographic materials in the British Museum, the author proposes to depoliticize on a strictly scientific basis the exhibit of artifacts, changе the false name and labels of "Room 54" and present archaeological artifacts from the ancient monuments of the Armenian Highland and Asia Minor in two exhibiting rooms, which must be called Ancient Armenia and Ancient Asia Minor.
