PAN-ARMENIAN CONFERENCE OF POLITICAL SCIENTISTS AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS EXPERTS ON “CHALLENGES OF THE 21ST CENTURY AND THE SECURITY ISSUES OF ARMENIA” DRAWS TO AN END
The second day of the conference included speeches under the title “Remembrance Policy and the Armenian Genocide: Current Challenges and Risks”, including a speech about the remembrance of the Armenian Genocide and global challenges by Director of the Institute of the Diaspora and Genocide Studies at Guhr University of Germany.
Hilda Choboian, who is the regional advisor in the French region of Ron-Alp, presented the political challenges to Armenian remembrance in Europe.
Deputy of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran Karen Khanlarian delivered a speech on “Territorial claims as a component of the Armenian Cause”.
Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the RA National Academy of Sciences Ruben Safrastyan presented the current stage of the Armenian Cause and Turkey’s policy. Director of the ARF-D Bureau for the Armenian Cause and Political Affairs Kiro Manoyan delivered a speech on “The rights of Armenia and the Armenian nation and the legal package for Armenian Genocide compensation”. Director of the Institute of History at the RA National Academy of Sciences Ashot Melikyan presented the Armenian Genocide issue in the context of the security of the Republic of Armenia, Deputy of the RA National Assembly Tevan Poghosyan talked about the challenges and risks ahead of 2015, and Head of “Modus Vivendi” Center Ara Papyan delivered a speech on “Eradication of the consequences of the Armenian Genocide as the only way of counteracting the challenges facing the Republic of Armenia”.
The speeches were followed by an exchange of views and a discussion on the views and proposals.
In her closing speech at the end of the Pan-Armenian Conference of Political Scientists and international Relations Experts, Hranush Hakobyan particularly mentioned: “This conference served as a platform for political scientists and international relations experts to express their views and approaches regarding the issues of Armenia’s security. One of the missions of the Ministry of Diaspora is to establish professional networks, and with this conference we had the opportunity to establish another network to initiate an important professional dialogue on issues of national concern.”
The conference ended with a visit to the Armenian Genocide memorial complex.
